Plastic used to be a trendy & helpful item, but meanwhile almost everything is contaminated with it, even the Antarctic Sea.
The result of our blind consumption and trust in the industry have led us to a dangerous time, where EACH OF US has to stand up, wake up & change their behavior! The air we breath & the water we drink are in danger – and therefore our health too!
Let’s do this together 👫♻️🌎🌳🕊️👊
IN THE KITCHEN:
are made out of plastic too, yep!
PLANT & PICK your own, or buy fresh saisonal herbs like stinging nettle (de: Brennnessel), dandelion (Löwenzahn), mint, ginger,… Add spices if you like (cinnamon, clove,…)
You can try to drink your glass directly with your mouth 😉 or take the straws out of paper or stainless steel.
When you have the choice, grab the juice filled in glass not plastic. Same for water. Get a water filter at home which makes your water “alive” and drink this. Harmonized water is SO IMPORTANT for our health!
4. PLASTIC SPONGE & CLOTH
Use a natural sponge & a organic cotton or hemp cloth (e.g. from old clothes)
5. GARBAGE BAGS
Use garbage bags made out of cellulose (organic) plastic or use paper bags; make a compost when you have a garden! UPCYCLE things like plastic buckets & containers.. (watch YouTube tutorials for inspirations)
6. SOAP & DISHWASHER
Conventionals are toxic for the environment & our drinking water
Shop the eco variant or DIY:
Mix 1:1 baking soda & wash soda, add warm water and mix well. Shake well before using it. The less water you use the more concentrated it is. (e.g. 1 TSP each + 200 ml water)
Use a soap dispenser out of glass, porcelain or stainless steel
7. KITCHEN SPOON & CO
Use them out of certified sustainable wood, bamboo or stainless steel.
8. DISPOSABLE TABLEWARE
For your next BBQ choose the compostable variant. They’re made out of palm or banana leaves, coconut shells, wood or bamboo (brand: e.g. leef)
9. CONTAINERS / LUNCHBOX
I think almost every person had these, me included. Throwing them away even though they’re fine & not broken, would be an unnecessary step.
When they get broken, try to recycle or ‘upcycle‘ them, e.g. plant some herbs in it.
Use “AGREENA” for a wholesome eco lifestyle. It’s non-toxic & reuseable, you can even put these in the dishwasher!
10. VEGGIES & FRUITS
Use nothing but the scale & your bag.
If you wanna get an alternative use paper or reuseable veggie bags.
And continue at home.. 🤗🌿
11. NO PLASTIC- & ALUMINIUMFOIL, NO BAKING SHEEDS
You can get the baking mats online; AGREENA is a great alternative because you can use it in 3 different ways!
12. CUTTING BOARD
Use them out of certified sustainable sources, out of wood or better: bamboo. (Bamboo grows faster and is better for the environment/ co2)
13. NO/ LESS PAPER TOWELS
They’re not out of plastic but an unnecessary waste!
Rather buy more dishtowels or use old cloth to clean / soak something. There are too many trees going down just because of our consumption. Try to avoid not just plastic but also unnecessary single-use-wood-items. 🤗
IN THE BATH
1. BIODEGRADABLE TOOTHBRUSH
Use one out of wood or bamboo, with an etui for travellers. You get them online or in eco shops.
2. SELFMADE TOOTHPASTE
Fluoride is damaging our pineal gland, the centre of our spiritual sense like telepathy. It also regulates our hormones and our sleep. Fluoride in toothpastes and salt are a toxic substance which should not come in our body. Inform yourself.
Therefore use a herbal toothpaste or DIY:
Mix 100 g native coconut oil with ~1tbs pure baking soda, add an essential oil like mint or eucalyptus, which acts antibacterial and gives a nice taste & smell. You can also add curcuma, which bleaches the teeth naturally. 🤗
3. DEODORANT / “BODY SPRAYS”
Conventionals contain toxic substances which you spray in your environment – not good for your body & the air you breath.
At least buy an organic alternative WITHOUT ALUMINIUM (which leads to cancer & dementia) or DIY 🎉 (see above, just don’t put curcuma in it). 👍
4. ECO COTTON/ BAMBOO BUDS
5. FREE MENSTRUATION / CUP / ORGANIC TAMPON
I personally don’t like these silicone cups neither so I use organic tampons, but have you ever heard of the ‘free menstruation’? It’s about controlling the blood like going to toilet. A hard training but maybe the future..
6. ORGANIC COTTON TOWEL
For travellers like me are these thin & slightly travel towels a good thing, but I took my cotton towel with me and it just feels better because these fine micro fibers are getting out of the towel from time to time and this contaminates our whole drinking water and the ocean! So give a damn about the 100 g more in your backpack, we don’t need to jump on on every trend.
7. FACE & BODY CREAM
Would you eat what you put on your skin?!
For your face use 100% cold pressed organic ARGAN OIL. This has the most vitamin E. For your body use cold pressed oil you prefer, spread 1 TBS over your body. You can also use FRESH aloe vera gel.
For a peeling & cure use healing earth. For dry skin use pure organic Shea butter.
8. SHAMPOO / CONDITIONER
It doesn’t need to be foamed so the hairs getting clean & fat-free. We destroy our own talk production by doing this daily. The chemical substances are not good either for us and our water 🙄
You can use fresh lemon juice as a conditioner & shampoo at the same time. You can also use apple cider vinegar and baking soda! Another way is with rye flour! Google what sounds good for you! In the end, you can wash them JUST WITH WATER, but that takes 6-8 weeks to make the change (in the beginning you will have fatty fair).
9. WASHING POWDER
Conventional washing powder contains chemical substances which are bad for the environment & our drinking water! And it’s hard to filter these!
A good alternative is pure washing soda. When you wanna have a liquid, do this:
30 g of ground soap, 3 tablespoons of soda, 3 tablespoons of washing soda with 4 liters of hot water, so it’s dissolving. When cooling off, mix with a whisk.
10. CLEANING (LIME REMOVER & CO)
You can use a squeezed lemon for lime removing. Apple cider vinegar and baking soda are great as well for cleaning!
11. CHROCHET BIKINI
Conventional swim wear is made out of plastic fibers, which are detach from time to time into the ocean, where we can already find a lot of micro fibers which is not good for plankton and small organism which feel the big fishes and in the end – us!
Luckily these beautiful chrochet bikinis out of organic cotton are getting more and more popular 🤗
12. CLOTHES, SHOES & BAGS
Choose organic cotton, hemp or bamboo fiber
HEMP CLOTHES, SHOES & BACKPACKS: Hempest, Pure, Seedsman, Etsy, hempshoes.online, …
PINEAPPLE LEATHER: Piñatex (ananas-anam.com)
They even have beautiful furniture 🤗
